Buy the Clean Tier and unlock PoppyDisk
The complete path from deciding to buy to cleanup working on this device.
When you finish, the Deletion Review and deletion are available on real Drives on this PC.
Prerequisites
Before you start
- PoppyDisk installed and open. See Install PoppyDisk.
- An email address you can read on this PC, or nearby. The receipt links to your License Key.
- A way to pay through Polar, the merchant that handles the purchase. Polar issues the receipt and holds your key.
Buy
- In a Scan result, choose Review on the Cleanup Basket bar. The Clean Tier wall opens, headed Unlock the Clean Tier, with Buy once and the price. It says No subscription, no account.
- Choose Buy once. Your browser opens PoppyDisk's buy page, which hands you to Polar's checkout.
- Pay. Polar takes the payment and shows PoppyDisk's success page: The Clean Tier is yours. Payment went through and your License Key exists.
Get the License Key
The key is not in the email. The email carries a link to Polar's customer portal, and the key is copied from there.
- Open the receipt email from Polar and follow its link to your License Key. Keep the email: it is also how you free a device later.
- Copy the key. It starts with
POPPYDISK_.
Unlock this PC
- Back in PoppyDisk, choose Review on the Cleanup Basket bar, then I have a License Key on the wall. The Unlock the Clean Tier dialog opens with a field for the key.
- Paste the key and choose Unlock. The button reads Checking while PoppyDisk registers this PC with Polar.
- When the check succeeds, the dialog closes, the Scan Tier chip leaves the Drive Overview's title bar, and Review now opens the Deletion Review. See Review before you delete.
The dialog reminds you that this device becomes one of your three activations, and that you can free one up at any time from the link in your purchase email. See Keep the Clean Tier working for moving to another PC.
If the key is refused
PoppyDisk never pretends an unlock succeeded. A refused key shows the reason in red in the dialog, or That key could not be checked. when Polar could not be reached. Nothing is stored, and the wall stays where it was.
- Recopy the key from the portal rather than from memory or a screenshot.
- If all three activations are in use, free one from the portal and try again.
- If Polar cannot be reached, wait and try again; a network problem is not a rejection.
