PoppyDisk User Guide
How to go from a full Drive to confirmed Recovered Space, safely.
PoppyDisk measures a Drive, shows you where the space went, and deletes only what you collected and reviewed. This guide describes the current PoppyDisk release for Windows 11, whether it came from Microsoft Store or as a direct download from poppydisk.com. The two editions behave the same except where a page says otherwise: Microsoft Store keeps the Store Edition updated, and that edition does not offer the Elevated Rescan yet. See Install PoppyDisk.
Three steps from a full Drive to Recovered Space
- Install PoppyDisk, then scan a Drive. A finished Scan opens its Disk Map.
- Read the Disk Map to see which folders hold the bytes, and what the sizes mean before you trust a number.
- Collect items in the Cleanup Basket, review them, and delete. PoppyDisk reports Recovered Space only after Windows confirms it.
Start somewhere else
- Buy the Clean Tier and unlock PoppyDisk: scanning is free, deletion is a one-time purchase.
- Fix scanning and results problems: a Scan that will not start, space that came back Restricted, sizes marked Stale.
- What PoppyDisk sends and stores: your Drive contents stay on your PC.
- How administrator access works: what happens when PoppyDisk asks Windows for permission.
- Use PoppyDisk with a keyboard or a screen reader.
- Take a tour in Demo Mode: see every screen on synthetic data before pointing PoppyDisk at your own Drive.
Every screenshot in this guide was taken in Demo Mode, so the Drives and folders you see here are the same ones the tour shows you.
